How to use Engage
When you log into Engage you will be able to access your pension record. There are different sections for you to view:
Documents and uploads
View and download documents that the pensions team have published to Engage in the ‘files sent to me’ section.
‘My uploads’ area conveniently allows you to upload files for the pensions team, for example marriage certificates, leaver, and retirement forms.
Annual Benefit Statements
Your annual benefit statement (ABS) is available for each record of employment we hold for you. For each role, the ABS will give you:
- A pension forecast of what pension you could receive when you retire.
- A pension breakdown summary of how your pension has changed over the last 12-month period and how it is calculated.
- An overview of death benefits.
All the above can be downloaded should you wish to do so.
Beneficiaries
View and edit the nominated beneficiaries of your pension including the allocation for each person nominated.
Benefit calculators
You can run a benefit calculator for each of your pension records, depending on the employment status of that record - whether you are an active, or deferred member. The calculators currently available are:
- Deferred benefits – currently active members can check the value of your pension entitelment if you choose to deferr your pension before your retirement age..
- Deferred pension payment – your pension value if you were to put your currently deferred pension into payment.
- Voluntary retirement – the value of your pension if you were to remain in active employment and chose to voluntarily retire.
- Explore additional calculators – including a death in service calculator.
Retirement Planner
Allows you to plan for retirement using an easy 3-step interactive tool. Based on your choices, the tool will show you the level of income required at retirement based on your preferred lifestyle choices.
Latest valuation
Shows you the latest valuation to date including a breakdown of Care (career average revalued earnings) and Final Salary pension values. For information about the different pension memberships, please visit the Local Government Pension Scheme’s website, how your pension is worked out page.
CETV’s – Cash Equivalent Transfer Values
Request a Cash Equivalent Transfer Value (CETV) for financial planning, divorce and formal requests to transfer out.
Depending on your membership status, there may be four options available on this page:
- Financial planning – self-service estimate for use with a financial advisor.
- Divorce/Civil Partnership dissolution – formally request a divorce proceedings estimate.
- Transfer to another pension scheme – formaly request a transfer out estimate.

View and manage your personal information we currently hold on file for you. View your membership information, employment details, pay and contribution amounts as well as manage your communication preferences.
You can change your address, email, and telephone number under this section. Please ensure you also tell your employer if you update your details here.
